CTR 3 EVO

The next evolution of CTR is here with the debut of the CTR3 Evo. The CTR3 has always been about pushing the bleeding edge of design and performance, and this is no exception. Now with a robust 800 horsepower, the CTR3 Evo represents the pinnacle of our water-cooled engines and is the most powerful RUF ever created. The RUF CTR3 Evo turns up the heat on an iconic design with a low, wide front-end and characteristically curved front fenders that allow the driver to place the front wheels easily. The driving position is reminiscent of sports prototypes of the past, with power and handling very much of the modern age. Its twin-turbocharged and intercooled 3.8-liter flat-six produces 800 horsepower at 7,100 RPM and 730 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM. The RUF-designed engine is bristling with tech to ensure a smooth and powerful pull to redline under any circumstances, including variable cam timing and lift, direct fuel injection and dry-sump lubrication. The double-clutch 7-speed gearbox receives commands from the shift paddles. Six-piston brake calipers with 15-inch carbon-ceramic rotors front and rear ensure all 800 horses are reined in effortlessly. The steel chassis utilizes our Integrated Roll Cage inside a lightweight carbon-composite body shell for maximum strength and lightness. A rear wing ensures ample downforce at its top speed of 236 MPH. The RUF CTR3 Evo takes our iconic supercar to the next level, with a striking design and performance figures rivaling the best modern supercars.

RUF TRIBUTE

RUF HONORS THE 911

In our 60-year love affair with the 911, we are bringing back one of the elements that shaped the heart and soul of this iconic masterpiece - the air-cooled motor. We are proud to introduce Alois Ruf’s new air-cooled engine, a testament to our brand’s heritage blended harmoniously with contemporary innovation.

This remarkable vehicle is a nostalgic journey back to our roots, embodying the spirit of classic air-cooled engines while infusing it with a touch of modernity, featuring four-cam technology with variable cam timing, variable valve lift and three- valve cylinder heads. As part of the drivetrain, the RUF-designed air-cooled 3.6-liter twin-turbo engine is embedded in a carbon-fiber chassis, producing 550 horsepower at 6,750 RPM, bristling with the character only air cooling can provide. The engine’s construction is based on a six-cylinder horizontally opposed configuration with an aluminum block and cylin- der heads, ensuring a lightweight and robust design. The chassis uses our present modular system of double-wishbones at all four corners with horizontally-mounted dampers lifted from motorsport. Our proprietary Integrated Roll Cage stiffens its lightweight chassis.

All the RUF essentials are combined: steering brimming with tactility, an engine that overwhelms the senses in all the best ways and an overall feeling of lightness, agility and strength. The rush of the air-cooled engine behind you adds something special to the modern RUF pantheon, taking the best of the motoring past and injecting the technology of the present to create a supercar that is unlike any other. At RUF, we believe in the importance of tradition, consistency and innovation, with the new air-cooled study pushing our boundaries in engineering and design. The air-cooled engine has always been near and dear to our hearts, and we are thrilled to be carrying the torch of this iconic layout into the modern motoring age.

901 QUICKBLAU

ALOIS RUF 901 'QUICKBLAU'

RUF WINS THE BEST IN CLASS AWARD AT PEBBLE BEACH 2023

The Porsche 911 ranks as one of the few automobile characters to have remained true to its intrinsic ideals over decades, while still undergoing impressive development. The career of the sports car hailing from Zuffenhausen was launched some 60 years ago in Frankfurt. The Porsche 901 was unveiled at the International Motor Show on 12th September 1963 as the long-awaited and yearned-for successor to the exceptionally successful Porsche 356. Since the type desig- nation of Peugeot was protected under trademark law, the model had to be renamed 911 in late autumn 1964 after fewer than 100 cars had been delivered. When the 356 was a little older, the powers that be at Porsche already began to test the successor in 1962. Some of the test cars totalling thirteen in all were given exotic names like Sturmvogel (storm bird), Blaumeise (blue tit), Fledermaus (bat), Zitronenfalter (lemon butterfly), Barbarossa (red beard) and Quick Blau or Quick Blue. This Porsche “Quick Blau” anticipated the subsequent production version boasting an advanced dashboard with five dials for the first time. Back then, Ferdinand Piëch was head of engine development and he carried out extensive tests on the new series with this very car. Later on, the car was driven by Hans Mezger and Walter Vetter before entering into the custodianship of Alois Ruf in 1968, who has remained the owner up to the present day. In the wake of a serious accident in 1971, the car was rescued by a comprehensive reconstruction. This oldest prototype still in existence underwent a frame-up restoration from 2020 to 2022.

It finally came for the 901's big day at the Pebble Beach Concours 2023 and as such, it was a celebration of the 75th birthday of Porsche – and could there be a better place to celebrate the anniversary than California? While the black-and-yellow Porsche 906E raced by Ed Hugus and John Cannon at the 1967 12 Hours of Sebring was certainly the most eye-catching car in the concours, the jurors were convinced by other cars in the field, among them a 1972 Porsche 916 Karmann Coupe and a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Touring. The class win deservedly went to Alois Ruf for the 1963 Porsche 901 Prototype “Quickblau” which he had received as a present from his father for his 18th birthday. He kept the car ever since.

Congratulations on your win Mr RUF, to the RUF Family and to the Team in Pfaffenhausen!

Gut Gemacht!
