This vehicle left the Porsche factory in 1993 as a 964 3.6 turbo, one of only 1,437 manufactured. In 1998, the car was upgraded at the RUF factory to RUF 3.8 BTR specification.

A unique opportunity to purchase a RUF conversion that pre-dates the time when RUF Automobile GmbH became a manufacturer in its own right and before the legendary 'Yellowbird' was created. With confirmed provenance in the form of documentation from RUF that this car was officially upgraded from the original 911 donor-car to an SCR specification there are very few of these cars left which represent the birth of a tradition that survives at RUF until today.
